After the death of the artist, the museum and the entire heritage preserved in it were acquired by the City of Comacchio, as a bequest of the same Brindisi. The building is characterized by a large central cylinder that connects different floors with living spaces, those of study and those exhibition. The collection, which are also included works by the same Brindisi, includes about two thousand units and document all major artistic trends of the twentieth century internationally.
They range from Segantini and Medardo Rosso to Modigliani, Boccioni, De Chirico, Severini, Casorati, Sironi, de Pisis, up to Fontana, Burri, Capogrossi Licini, Widow, Rotella and Manzoni. Among the foreign artists include Picasso, Braque, Miro, Chagall, Matisse, Klee, Appel, Sebastian Matta. In a special pavilion dedicated to sculpture, opened in 1987, Brindisi has added over a hundred sculptures including cone reported examples of Giacometti, Moore, Melotti, Ceroli.
The Museum of Contemporary Art Remo Brindisi is a museum, part of the system of the Museums of Quality (MDQ), recognized by the Institute for Cultural Heritage of Emilia-Romagna.
Often there are events held in cultural background, sopratuitto during summer in the beautiful setting of the garden outside the museum.
